Every great garment has a backstory. This one has a second act.

It begins in Bangkok, with a silk shawl made to coordinate with a matching custom-made dress. A perfect pair, destined for glamorous evenings. Unfortunately, as perfect pairs sometimes do, they never really went out together.

Enter Bethany, who believes no fabric should go unworn. Armed with the Fifi Pyjamas pattern from Tilly and the Buttons, she gave that shawl a remix: a halter-tie cami and matching shorts, the printed silk paneled against cream silk rescued from the scrap bin.

To get technical: B cut a size 2. The Fifi shorts didn’t quite fit the way she wanted, so she swapped in the shorts from the Carolyn Pajamas by Closet Core Patterns. One part Tilly, one part Closet Core, all parts luxurious.
