Linen Shift Dress

This shift dress came to Bethany in a fever dream. Or, more accurately, in an advertisement from Quince, which in our house is roughly the same thing.

Rather than simply buy it, B took on the challenge of recreating it from the picture alone, with the bonus of choosing her own quality fabric and her own fit. Completely self drafted: no pattern, no instructions, just a magazine page stuck to the fridge and sheer determination.

For extra luxury, the neck and armholes are all finished with bias tape she made herself from coordinating linen.

The result was not shifty at all, but a complete success. So much so that the same pattern has since gone on to produce a small fleet of tank tops. Shift happens.
